SEO Account Director Job Description
Responsible to: SEO Director
External Relationships: Clients, prospective clients, tool and data providers,
Internal Relationships: Senior management, all digital teams and comms planners.
Salary: Dependant on the candidate.
Location: Manchester, UK (with some travel to see clients and visit the London offices).
Main duties of the role:
- Design and deliver SEO strategies that reflect the resources, assets and ambitions of the clients to the highest degree – all with a keen eye on ROI.
- Leading the SEO team in delivering absolute excellence in both client servicing and results.
- Using prior knowledge and experience to enhance all levels of the SEO team’s abilities.
- Prepare and present monthly and quarterly reports to clients.
- Build convincing and credible business cases around the benefits of SEO recommendations.
- Have high-level understanding of search engines – including considerations around their infrastructure, algorithms and UI – and be able to communicate this effectively to a range of stakeholders.
- Be highly proficient in web technologies, and a range of approaches to marketing a website for organic visibility in the most competitive markets.

- Have a fantastic understanding of online marketing issues ad opportunities – not only SEO, but other areas of online too.
- Take a keen interest in current affairs across online marketing.
- Outgoing and personable.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Excellent project management skills
- Innovative in their approach to online marketing, developing of digital assets and building an authoritative link-profile for clients.
- Ability to motivate a team in delivering true excellence in SEO servicing and delivery.
- Hands-on approach, where required, in solving problems that may affect the optimisation of a site or its visibility online.
- Ability to recognise new business opportunities.
- Ability to manage multiple demands on your time.
- The candidate will possess 4+ years’ experience in SEO and online marketing.
- The candidate would have worked with very large clients and understand the challenges and opportunities that exist.
- The candidate would have led an SEO team / projects at the highest level.
- The candidate can demonstrate previous results gained in very competitive sectors.

Interview Process
The typical interview process involves the review of the CV’s, 1st informal meeting with one of the SEO Director’s, followed by a second where you may be asked to present on a technical area of SEO.
