MEC were sponsoring Think Visibility in Leeds at the weekend. Six people from MEC’s eleven strong SEO team attended the conference on Saturday: Carolyn Jones, David Towers, Dan Alderson, Waqar Shah, Mike Montgomery and Tahera Dudhwala.
Think Visibility is a conference organised by Dom Hodgson for online marketers. The conference deals with subjects like Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO), Affiliates and Usability.
The quality of the sessions at the conference was absolutely top notch. One of my personal favourites was the opening presentation by Tom Critchlow at Distilled who explained the key things to know regarding Google Local optimisation. Like most conferences, there was plenty of time to network and chat with people we hadn’t met before like Kenny Goodman and Jaamit Durrani.
There was an amusing quote in the last session which came from Chris Clarkson (in the audience) who said the following to John O’Donovan (he is responsible for ensuring the BBC website is optimised):
You have the easiest SEO job in Britain!
Throughout the conference, I made detailed notes of each sessions I attended:
- Local SEO strategies by Tom Critchlow
- Conversion rate tips and tricks by Stephen Pavlovich
- Building a successful presence for your website in social news by Andrew Burnett
- Making more hours with outsourcing and automation by Al Carlton
- When the BBC met SEO by John O’Donovan
There was a great deal to take away from the conference so we would like to thank Dom Hodgson and his team for organising the event.
