SDIManchester leads the way

Earlier this week MEC Manchester became the first media agency as a whole to ever take part in SDI training. What is SDI training you ask?

Based in Relationship Awareness Theory, the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) is a valid and reliable tool for understanding the different motives that people value, deploying different behaviors to more effectively work with others, and managing the different stages of conflict.

Everyone that attended the training was given a colour within a triangle that represented a behaviour. There was also a colour for how people reacted in conflict. Along with the London office there will be an agency wide chart drawn up to show everyone’s colour. The idea behind this is that knowing someone’s colour will enable us to interact more effectively and avoid any potential conflict (and even how to deal with conflict if it does arise).

After the training MEC Manchester staff will also be able to identify the colour of clients and other people outside of the agency and once again know how to deal with a person of that specific colour.
