May - The fourth be with us!

MEC Manchester is committed to delivering the very best work for our clients, while maintaining our reputation as one of the brightest and most innovative media agencies in the UK. We also do everything we can to put back into our local community whenever possible, using the passion and skills of our people to make a difference where it matters most.

This month we were delighted to be recognised for our commitment to all of the above, with two fantastic awards highlighting an amazing 12 months. For our work as a business, we were named Media Agency of the Year at the Prolific North Awards, while our charitable endeavors were also honoured at the 2013 Social Impact Awards.

Prolific North Awards – Media Agency of the Year

Rising from the ashes of How-Do, Prolific North has continued to focus on the thriving northern media landscape. MEC Manchester had been named Media Agency of the Year for three consecutive years by How-Do, so taking the title for what was technically a fourth time would certainly be a challenge.

However, the judges were impressed by both our “growth of profit, turnover and margins” in the last 12 months, as well as our emphasis on staff welfare. It was an honour to receive the award from industry luminary Martin Anderson and MEC Manchester will do everything possible to maintain the standards it has set for itself by such prestigious tributes.

Social Impact Awards – SME Business Award

A national awards programme created to celebrate and reward the innovative work done by organisations of all sizes in the public and private sector, the Social Impact Awards recognises those who have made a difference to their local community.

MEC Manchester was given the SME Business Award for its work with Barnabus and The Samaritans across 2012, which saw us collectively raise over £10,500, give more than 526 hours of staff time and secure advertising slots worth around £13,300. Once again, it was an honour to be chosen for this award and we hope to be able to continue this level of dedication to our 2013 charities – The Manchester Children’s Hospital Oncology Ward and Katie’s Ski Tracks.
