It was Ceilidh Night…

It was a warm and muggy evening in Castlefield, but that didn’t stop people dancing (and sweating) up a storm at the MEC Manchester Charity Ceilidh. The event, held at Dukes 92, was all in aid of raising money for this year’s charities. Katie’s Ski Tracks and the Oncology Ward at Manchester Children’s Hospital

The Ceilidh hits were provided by band Northern Comfort who compered the night exceptionally well and were extremely patient with some people’s lack of co-ordination and knowledge of left and right. There was swinging, promenading and do-si-do-ing a plenty and much needed sustenance was provided for the guests.

The night could not be complete without a raffle and silent auction, with all prizes very kindly donated by media owners. Massive thanks should go to Talksport, Global, GMG, Bauer, Absolute, Tan Media, Channel 4, ITV, 5, Medialink and Pearl & Dean for prizes ranging from gig and cinema tickets to meal and retail vouchers

Joining the guests were representatives from both our charities, who thoroughly enjoyed the evening and were thrilled at the turnout and the money raised.

As well as all attendees having a fabulous time and burning off loads of calories the event raised a phenomenal £1,332 for our two amazing charities. This money will make a huge difference to both charities. Thanks to everyone who came, danced and had fun.
