Clear Channel has announced the UK’s first national, permanent high street mobile platform for outdoor media. The roll-out will see more than 10,000 Clear Channel Adshel panels and digital roadside panels equipped with both Near Field Communications (NFC) and QR code capabilities, transforming roadside advertising into an interactive consumer experience.
This landmark platform gives advertisers the opportunity to deepen their interaction with consumers by offering interactive content, social media integration, real-time content updates as well as the ability to use your smartphone to download vouchers and promotions.
The platform will be supported by a full reporting network to help brands effectively track responses.

Initial research into this platform has demonstrated great potential for brand engagement while on the move.
As with any new technology there is still a job to be done in educating the consumer on the use and benefits of NFC. But with the launch of the NFC enabled i-phone 5 and other manufacturers building the capability into their latest devises, the penetration of this technology is set to grow rapidly across 2013.
