This month MEC announced our charity of the year for 2011 - Elise For Life. Elise for Life is an appeal set up within The Christie (one of Europe's leading Cancer centres) to fund Malignant Melanoma Research and the new Clinical Trial Unit.

Elise Roberts was the sister of Nola Calladine, one of MEC's Business Directors. Elise was diagnosed with a rare form of skin cancer (malignant melanoma) on 4th January 2010 and battled courageously with the disease for 9 months. The Christie was amazing throughout Elise's battle and they are committed to finding a cure for this indiscriminate disease and providing the very best care and treatment for all.

Elise's legacy is the Elise for Life appeal set up by her, in her name, for the treatment, care and support of others , the aim -  to raise £1million for The Christie.

MEC Manchester has committed to raising £5,000 towards Elise for Life during 2011.

You will find more news in future newsletters on events and how we are doing against our target.
