Let MEC Eat Cake

ShareTweet

On the lunchtime of Thursday the 7th June, MEC seemed more like a patisserie than an agency, as the Insatiable meeting room was filled with tempting baked goods - all for a good cause.

As part of the year-long efforts to raise money for cancer charity Elise For Life, MEC was engaged in a bake-off - a competition some people took very seriously.  And representatives from media owners such as IPC, Natmags and MSN  meant there were plenty of combatants playing to win.

With Emma, Mick, Kole and Anton comprising the judging panel, it was no doubt the results would be hotly contested but ultimately fair.

It was a Battle of the Brownies within the Interaction Department as Adam Holborn's nutty chocolate concoction of pecans and almonds narrowly defeated placement student Lucy Johnson's similar strawberry-tinged delicacy.

Cupcakes ranged from strawberry surprises to Malteser-topped treats, while the cheesecakes, fairy cakes and sponges were all so good that it was always tough for the judges to find a winner.

In the end, Helen Greatrex's Victoria Sponge was deemed to be the greatest cake creation.  But with £210.07 (and 1 Euro) raised Elise for Life (and everyone's bellies full of tasty goodness), everyone ended up a winner.
