Manchester gets behind the 'Movember' challengeWritten by Noel Mellor |
This month, men (and possibly some women) all over the world will free their top lip and cultivate a glorious, full, moustache in the name of charity. The celebration of testosterone that is Movember has arrived once more, and MEC Manchester has formed its very own team to help raise money for the UK’s leading prostate cancer group. A 30-day journey has now set sail that will ride the choppy waters of wispy humiliation, charge through the valley of furry uncertainty and eventually climax atop the mountain of moustachioed pride. It is a long and arduous road fraught with all manner of obstacles, but the confused stares of strangers and pleas from horrified loved ones must be cast aside - and can be done so with three simple words: "It's for charity." One man who has taken on the challenge is MEC Manchester's SEO Copywriter Noel Mellor (right), who believes that while the cause is just, there are plenty of other reasons to get involved. "When else am I going to get away with rocking this ridiculous ginger handlebar moustache?" he asks. "For one month, I get to pretend I'm a Hells Angel and raise some cash for a really great charity... it's a win-win!"
